I know you will all be glad when this is over, and we can all get back outside and back to work and specially to get me off the computer! With everything changing daily in response to the pandemic, this seems to be the best way to keep people informed.
About a minute after Jackie dropped the water bills in the mail with the newsletter explaining that the Food Pantry Truck would still be coming to Alexandria, the Food Pantry was forced to remove the Alexandria stop. I called the food pantry and spoke with the Executive Director of the Licking County Food Pantry Chuck Moore. Chuck proved to be the kind and caring person you would expect to hold such a position. He assured me that they didn’t have any choice given the circumstances, and that the minute the crisis is over the truck will resume its Alexandria stop. Furthermore, he explained that our residents can go to the Johnstown Food Pantry located at 140 Pratt Street every Thursday from 10:AM until noon. At the Johnstown Market people can get dry goods in addition to the produce that was on the truck, caned goods and such. In addition, anyone in need with children can get diapers and formula at the Newark location. With so many not working because of the virus I believe this resource will be vital to a lot of us. Signing up is easy, Chuck said the best way to sign up is to give him a call at 740-344-7401. I have attached a flier that better explains some of the services the Food Pantry provides.
